stick right there!

Have you ever gotten lost in the middle a task and you decide to call a spontaneous halt to come back to it with the hope that the break would afford you the opportunity of having a fresh muse with which to continue later on and then get it right?

For instance, you are reading for an Exam and at a point, you seem to be reading and not comprehending what you are reading. Perhaps, you are writing a story and you seem to have run out of ideas for developing it. You stare into space and then give it up for a break with the hope to continue later. No, do not do that! Chances are that, you might never come back to it or when you do, it might have taken a long time and then you get reluctant with it and want to start an entirely new story and chances are that what happened with the first story might as well happen with the second one, besides, there are other factors that could get you distracted when you are not consistent like that and you continue that way and unintentionally achieve nothing at the end of many years. This is the reason why most talented aspiring writers never get to finish a single story.

The problem does not lie on your ability to do what but on your determination and hard work. Don’t tell me you are talented in some things and you don’t have any practical example to back it up.

What to do when you find yourself lost while doing a task;

Do not take that break! Stick right there! You will get it right. You have everything it takes to get it right. You can stretch out your arms, legs, head or even your bones but don’t leave the task, especially, not at that blank period. You may go on a break after the resolution of that particular difficulty. At least, continuing is easier when you know you had a smooth pause.

In the case of someone reading and not comprehending, the best option at that time might be to get  someone that knows the puzzle to help you out at that instant but when that is not readily available, please, stick there and try and try and try. It will surprise you that you will get it at the end of the day.

Now, that is some hard work plus determination! That is what distinguishes great people from lazy ones.
